She's coming to the east and it's going to be fun.
Miša Richterová is a young, ambitious Bratislava-based journalist working for a lifestyle magazine. After a disastrous mistake during a live broadcast, she is sent “as punishment” to a regional newsroom in Košice. Expecting a provincial backwater, Miša is quickly proven wrong – by the city and by its people.
Arriving with the confidence of a “big-city star,” she soon learns humility in the field: her experience no longer guarantees success, and the belief that everything in Bratislava is somehow “bigger” collides with everyday reality. Standing in her way is Renáta, a tough and uncompromising editor-in-chief who keeps both the newsroom and her own life firmly under control. Their encounters are marked by sharp humor, conflict, and a gradually growing mutual respect.
Alongside her personal struggles, Miša covers stories ranging from fires and missing children to rescuing stray dogs – seemingly “small” topics that become a major lesson in journalism and life. She slowly earns the trust of her colleagues, adapts to eastern Slovakia, and begins to discover its unique charm. At the same time, she finds herself torn between two men: Robo, an adrenaline-driven adventurer, and Tomáš, a principled deputy mayor. Just as Miša starts to feel she has finally found her place, everything changes – Robo leaves for India, and news arrives from Bratislava that the Košice television branch is about to be shut down.
