Welcome to Rozumovo – a village where the inhabitants know everything about everyone, and where neighborly conflicts are inherited from generation to generation. Two feuding families, headed by Šmrha and Průša, are waging a war whose origins hardly anyone even remembers. Their children Karel and Marie, however, are secretly in love despite their fathers’ bad blood. When Marie agrees to appear on a reality show called “Blind Wedding,” a TV crew arrives in the village and the old order begins to crumble.
The film stars Vasil Fridrich and David Novotný as the stubborn neighbors, Petr Uhlík and Nelly Řehořová as the pair in love, and Štěpán Kozub as the eccentric Swedish metalhead. Director and screenwriter Tomáš Svoboda offers a quirky village comedy, in which both families’ plans get tangled up with the mayor, the local innkeeper, nosy neighbors, TV cameras, and a whole host of misunderstandings.
